After a couple days of warm sun, the fishing in our area has begun to improving rapidly! Good catches of bluegills and crappies are being reported in 6 to 9 feet of water. Hogsett Lake, Sugarloaf Lake, Cedar Lake, and Pine Lake have been popular spots this week. Keep an eye out for darker bottom areas, these spots tend to warm up faster than the rest of the lake and you’ll be sure to find fish there.

Lake Michigan has been getting better each day. Many reports of limit catches of coho salmon are coming from St. Joe to South Haven in 26 to 33 feet of water. Nice sized kings and lake trout are showing up as well. Red, black, and gold are the hot colors right now. Thin Fish and Rapala Husky Jerks trolled 60 to 80 feet on flat lines will put fish in the boat. Fish are less than a 1/4 mile from the beach!
