Big Fish Contest Standings
There were two entries in the final week of the Big Fish Contest, and both took over first place spots in the standings.
Dan Foster of Kalamazoo landed a 39.5-inch king salmon using a Spin Doctor and Gotcha Fly. That fish had a 22.5-inch girth and was caught near South Haven.
The Senior Angler of the Week is Chris Smith from Kalamazoo. The 49-year-old angler boated a huge lake trout measuring 37 inches in length with a 24.5-inch girth! It was caught in 96 feet of water near St. Joe. That laker was only 2 ounces shy of 24 pounds!
It is now time to announce the Grand Prize winner. This year’s award, a $200 gift card to D&R Sports Center, goes to 36-year-old Shannon Woodley of Grand Junction. Back in Week 16 of the Big Fish Contest he entered a 21-pound, 15-ounce king salmon. It was in third place until the last day of the contest.
All anglers that ended up in the Final Standings will receive gift cards from D&R Sports Center. First place gift card is $20, second place is $15 and third place is $10. Anglers may pick up their gift cards starting Tuesday, September 6th. Congratulations to all 114 entries!
